The City is hosting a July 4th Celebration in Riverside Park that will culminate with a fireworks show at 9:15 p.m. The New Smyrna Beach July 4th Celebration runs from 9 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. The day begins with a free family fishing tournament until 1 p.m. near the Brannon Center. Check in is at 8:30 a.m. The tourney includes a hot dog cookout and awards.     With temperatures hovering 90 degrees, locals may cool off mentally with holiday festivities -- summer style. The Canal Street merchants will host a Christmas in July event from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday, July 5th, in the Canal Street Historic District. Santa Claus and his elf will greet visitors in Christmas Park on the corner of Canal and Live Oak streets. A photographer will take free family photos with Santa in his tropical summer wear.
