SYNOPSIS:   Burglary Residence – 809 S Cooper St. – Victim stated an unknown person entered their garage and stole a bicycle. A report was completed and the investigation continues.

SYNOPSIS:  Battery – 162 N Causeway – Two victims stated they were battered by a male known to them. Fisher N. Hawks Jr., male, 61 years of age was identified, arrested for simple battery, and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail.

SYNOPSIS: Mentally Ill Person – Newport Sound Place – A well-being check was conducted on a person making suicidal statements.  After an investigation, the person was taken into protective custody under Baker Act Criteria and transported to Halifax Hospital for an evaluation.

SYNOPSIS:  Abandoned Vehicle – 2300 Block N. Dixie Frwy. – Officers observed a vehicle abandoned on the side of the road. The owner was contacted and a ten day notice was issued.

SYNOPSIS:  Mentally Ill Person – 1200 Block S. Myrtle Ave. – A female reported a person known to her threatened to take his life.  The person was located and after an investigation, the person was taken into protective custody under Baker Act Criteria.  He transported to Halifax Hospital for an evaluation.

SYNOPSIS:  City Ordinance Violation – 2113 Jungle Rd. – Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. The investigation revealed that Michael Garthwaite, male, 26 years old was in possession of cannabis under 20 grams. He was issued a city ordinance violation and released from the scene.
