TIME OCCURRED:  0905   

SYNOPSIS:  Found Property – 600 Block of 3rd Avenue.  An officer received a phone call about a possible handgun laying in the roadway.  The officer arrived on scene, confirmed and took custody of a small handgun.  The gun was not reported stolen, and was placed into evidence for safekeeping.  Report taken for documentation.

SYNOPSIS:   Traffic Crash – 400 Block of the N. Causeway.  Two vehicles, minor damage, no injuries, and one citation.

SYNOPSIS:  Lost Property – 431 Luna Bella Lane.  The reporting person advised that he lost his prescription paperwork.  Report taken for documentation.

SYNOPSIS:  Theft – 3621 Casello Drive.  The victim advised that a female that he only knows by her first name took several items from him while she was staying at his residence.  Ongoing investigation.

SYNOPSIS:  Information Report – 900 N. Dixie Freeway (Regions Banks).  The reporting person advised that an unknown person has been attempting to open several accounts in her name in other states.  Report taken for documentation.

SYNOPSIS:  Information Report – 246 Industrial Park Avenue (New Smyrna Beach Police Department).  Report taken to document the empting of the prescription drug drop off box located in the lobby of the police department.

SYNOPSIS:  Suspicious Incident – 316 Canal St. (Inlet Title).  The reporting person advised that they received an email about a bomb threat.  After further investigation, it was discovered to be a scam that was sent to several businesses throughout the county.  The business was checked for devices, and none were found.  Report taken for documentation.

SYNOPSIS:  Lost Property – 2317 S.R. 44 (Mullinax Ford).  The reporting person advised that the business lost one of their dealer tags.  He could not advise when or where, and a report was taken for documentation.

SYNOPSIS:  Harassing Calls – 2355 S.R. 44 (Murphy Express).  The victim advised that she has been receiving multiple calls from an unknown male over the past four days.  Ongoing investigation.

SYNOPSIS:  Dead Person – 3700 Block of S. Atlantic Avenue.  Officers responded to a well-being check after being informed a female had not been seen in a couple of weeks. The officers received no answer at the door and after further investigation, the female was located inside deceased.  Nothing suspicious, and appeared to be from natural causes. Ongoing investigation.
