The City of NSB continues its partnership with the New Smyrna Beach Housing Authority to enhance the availability of workforce/affordable housing development in NSB.
Later in 2021, as a result of a U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit, the NSB Housing Authority is planning to begin Phase 1 of a new affordable senior housing development project called "Greenlawn Manor". This estimated $20 million dollar project will began with the demolition and disposition of the existing Greenlawn Terrace (600 Greenlawn Street) and Enterprise Homes (500 Brooks Street) Housing Developments. Pending HUD approval and tenant protection vouchers, existing tenants will be relocated within an estimated 120 days.
The City of NSB CRA is contributing just over $425,000 toward Phase 1 demolition and disposition. The project proposes 80 individual units. Amenities such as offices, community rooms, and elevators etc. have been integrated into the project's design.
