The primary function of the Criminal Investigations Division is to conduct follow-up investigations of reported crimes. Investigators are tasked with collecting, evaluating, and submitting physical evidence to the FDLE Crime Lab. Additionally they interview persons related to the crime (victims, witness and suspects) and prepare the case for prosecution.
