Overview

The Elected Officials of the City, which shall constitute the City Commission, shall consist of four Commissioners and a Mayor.  The Mayor and City Commissioners shall be the governing body of the City.  The Mayor shall serve a term of two years.  There shall be one Commissioner from each zone within the City and each Commissioner shall serve a term of four years. 

The form of government of the City of New Smyrna Beach shall be known as the Commission-Manager Plan.  The City Commission shall constitute the governing body with powers hereinafter provided to pass ordinances, adopt regulations, and appoint a Chief Administrative Officer to be known as the City Manager.
