Building Trades Board
Overview
The Board is composed of seven members and two alternate members who must be residents of Volusia County. The seven regular members must have knowledge and experience in technical codes, such as design professionals, contractors, or building industry representatives.
Of the two alternate members, one must be a member at large from the building industry and one must be a member at large from the public. No member may serve more than two consecutive terms unless waived by the City Commission.
Responsibilities
The Board makes determinations regarding applications for certificates of registration and recommends amendments to the various codes and regulatory standards that bear upon the construction industry and building trades in general.
