NEW SMYRNA BEACH SENIOR GAMES:
Date: September 30th – October 9th, 2008

Calling all kids age 50 and over! Come out and enjoy some friendly competition at the 19th Annual New Smyrna Beach Senior Games! This event is co-sponsored by Gentiva Health Services, Heartland Rehabilitation Service, Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Bert Fish Medical Center, Ocean View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Intercoastal Orthotics & Prosthetics. Activities include shuffleboard, basketball, track and field, bike, and much more! HALLOWEEN PARADE AND COSTUME CONTEST
Date / Time: Friday, October 31st,, 2008 @ 4:00 p.m.
Location: Orange Street Parking Lot

The 34th Annual Halloween Parade and Costume Contest will begin at the Orange Street parking lot and will proceed east down Canal Street to the Chamber of Commerce parking lot. The costume contest will begin immediately following the parade. Various age groups will be judged…including adults! Only homemade costumes will be judged and no pre-registration is required.

 

18th ANNUAL FLAMINGO FOLLIES – A HOLIDAY ART SHOW
Date: Saturday and Sunday, November 8th & 9th, 2008
Location: Flagler Avenue

Come out to the Flamingo Follies and do some holiday shopping as over 100 artisans and crafters from around the state show and sell their wares. Entertainment will continue throughout the weekend from the stage at Flagler and Pine. Artists and food vendors will line Flagler Avenue from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. ED ROOT 10K RUN / 5K FUN RUN
Date: Saturday, December 6th, 2008
Time: 8:00 am
Cost: $25 advance registration fee / $30 day of race, Students $20

Ed Root 10K covers the scenic route that takes runners across the Inlet Dunes boardwalk and the residential streets of the north beach area. Parking and restrooms are available.

 

CHRISTMAS PARADE
Theme “A Wish List for Santa”
Date: December 6th, 2008
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Location: Starts at Flagler Ave. parking lot

The annual Christmas Parade will begin at the Flagler Ave. parking lot and will travel west along Flagler Avenue and the North Causeway, south on Riverside Drive and will turn west on Canal Street and will end at Orange Street. Immediately following the conclusion of the parade, the Boat Parade proceeds along Riverside Drive and in front of the judge’s stand in Riverside Park.
