Citizen Information Lines to Close

Citizen Information Lines will close at 5 p.m. today.
The City distributed approximately 1,500 sandbags to residents preparing for Ernesto.  Two Public Works crews will remain throughout the night in the event of any localized flooding.


Outdoor sporting events cancelled Wednesday

All outdoor sporting events held at the New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex have been cancelled for Wednesday as a result of Tropical Storm Ernesto.

The New Smyrna Beach Water Taxi ceased operations today in order to prepare for storm conditions and will reinitiate service on Friday morning.


City Preparing for Tropical Storm Ernesto

New Smyrna Beach, FL - City officials are monitoring Tropical Storm Ernesto and making preparations for the possibility of heavy rains and wind later in the week. 

Sand bags are available to New Smyrna Beach residents at the Public Works Department located at 124 Industrial Park Avenue, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  There is a 20-bag limit per household and citizens should bring their own shovels and must fill bags themselves.  Residents will need to go into the Public Works facility with their I.D. to obtain the bags.
